Elections 2026: Please share your feedback

Dear [Name],

Election coverage has been dominated by Reform UK’s successes in last week’s vote. But while Reform undoubtedly performed well… Thursday 7 May was also a good day for the climate!

1,431 out of 5,066 councillors elected stood for pro-climate parties – the Greens and the Lib Dems. And despite picking up almost 1,452 seats, Reform won a smaller chunk of the projected national vote share than in 2025 – 26% compared with 30% last year. Combined, the Greens and Lib Dems secured 34% of the nationally projected vote share – creating a potentially formidable pro-climate force to rival Reform.

In the devolved parliaments, the Scottish Greens made considerable inroads at Holyrood, winning 15 out of 129 seats – in Scotland’s mixed system, this amounted to 2.3% of the constituency vote share and 14.0% of the regional poll. While Wales was hardly a climate landslide, the Greens elected their first ever Senedd members, picking up two seats on 6.7% of the vote share.

This year, we’ve worked hard to develop the strongest tactical vote for climate across England and in the devolved parliaments.

At 6.30pm on Thursday 21st May, we want to hear your views on our voting recommendations, analysis and guidance, as well as how we achieve the largest impact and expand our membership going forward. We’ll also talk about how we came up with our voting recommendations and how our recommended candidates got on, as well as what we believe we got right… and how we can do better.

Calling members in Wales and Scotland! We would love to hear from you on how VoteClimate can offer the most value in the proportional and mixed systems in Wales and Scotland. If you voted in elections to the devolved assemblies, please do come along and share your views.

Help us get general election ready

In theory, there are three years before the next general election. But in these febrile times, who can say?! And the threat from the climate deniers of Reform UK means the stakes couldn’t be higher. We want to scale up quickly to put maximum pressure on political parties as they draw up their climate policies, whenever the next election comes. A regular subscription can really help us expand the vital work of making the next vote a climate election.
