The Department of Energy and Climate Change signed up to the 10:10 campaign on 18 November 2009. The Department has an ongoing Greening DECC programme to reduce its energy consumption and increase its overall sustainability, and in July 2009, as part of its Low Carbon Transition Plan, DECC committed to a 10 per cent. reduction in its carbon emissions in this financial year (2009-10), with more to come in 2010. The 10:10 campaign fits well with this work.
