To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change with reference to his Department’s consultation on the Renewable Heat Incentive, if he will make an estimate of the effect on (a) morbidity and (b) mortality of the implementation of the 2020 biomass targets under the renewable energy strategy. The Renewable Energy Strategy promotes the uptake of biomass as one of a range of renewable fuel sources for the production of heat and electricity. It does not include specific targets for biomass within the overall target for renewable energy in 2020.
