Dear [Name],
The Labour Party conference is coming up in just a few days. From Sunday till Wednesday, government MPs will descend on Liverpool to discuss political priorities for the year ahead.
With Labour under threat from Reform and Starmer seemingly engulfed by a new scandal every week, it’s vital that we make sure climate is a top priority for a government in crisis.
Party conference season is a feeding frenzy for the fossil fuel industry. Research from Global Witness found that fossil fuel companies sponsored a fifth of climate events at Labour’s 2024 conference!
Make sure politicians are hearing a different message – tell your MP to put climate front and centre at the conference this year. In three easy steps, you can write to your MP now! Act now – it only takes five minutes.
It’s not just Labour – many of the major parties have party conferences coming up in the next few weeks. Feel free to adapt the text for your Conservative, Plaid Cymru, SNP (or even Green!) MP.
If you use our template to email your MP, please let us know by replying to this email with your MP’s name, so we can keep a tally.
Are you a Labour member attending the party conference as a delegate? We’ve prepared a special Conference Toolkit to help you stand up for climate this year – Take a look!
Next year, we want to be at party conferences, reminding politicians that in every election, we recommend the best vote for climate in constituencies across the UK – and that they must up their game on climate to win our recommendation. That costs money – for example, a non-profit pass for the Labour Party conference costs £1,293!
You can help us make a bigger impact for climate with a paid monthly subscription.
Or increase your existing subscription.
With very best wishes
Beccy, Ben, Jamie, Peter, Steve & William
